Call 111 - When it is less urgent than 999
Useful Resources

Routine Face-to-face appointments have been suspended on the advice from NHS England but please do not delay getting health care. If you need urgent medical help and it is not an emergency, contact your GP or NHS111 online or telephone NHS111 first. During the COVID19 pandemic it’s important that A&E is only used by those with serious or life threatening problems. There are many ways to get the right care at the right time via www.nhs.uk, your pharmacist and your GP.

Plumstead Health Centre offers online, telephone and video consultations. If you are invited in for a face to face appointment, infection control measures are in place to keep patients and staff safe

Important information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff which means your patient experience is subject to change.

Please do not attend the GP Practice.

If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus, including a new continuous cough or a high temperature.

You are advised to stay at home for 14 days.

If your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service (http://111.nhs.uk) that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.

Only call 111 direct, if you cannot go online, or are advised to do so by the online service.

for the latest Covid-19 advice please visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.

For all other queries, the practice will only be dealing with urgent issues. We are not offering routine face to face appointments. All clinical or administrative queries will be dealt with over the phone. A patient will only be seen if a clinician feels you need a face to face appointment after a telephone consultation. This is following national guidance during the Coronavirus pandemic.

We are now closed for face to face appointments.
If you require a telephone triage please call
between 8.00 – 9.30am and 12.00 – 4.00pm or use eConsult.

from Wednesdays to Mondays from

Monday 23rd April 2018

We will be opening late from 6.30pm - 8.00pm.

GP Access Hubs

Patients registered with a Greenwich GP can now be seen outside of normal practice hours at one of our two GP Access Hubs to give Greenwich patients better access to primary care. The Access Hubs are situated here:

Eltham Community Hospital
Passey Place
Eltham SE9 5DQ

Thamesmead Health Centre
 4-5 Thames Reach
 Thamesmead SE28 0NY

Both hubs are open:

  • Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm
  • Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm.

Festive season: Over the festive season, appointments will be available from 8am to 8pm on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day from the Thamesmead hub.

You will be seen by a Greenwich GP who will have access to your patient records.  The Access Hubs are for patients who are unable to get an appointment with their own GP Practice or if you have called NHS 111 for an urgent problem that can be seen by a GP.

How do I get an appointment?

If you are unable to get an appointment with your own GP practice, ask for an appointment at one of the Access Hubs. Your GP practice can book you an appointment.

If you have called NHS 111 for an urgent problem that can be seen by a GP, NHS 111 will book you an appointment at one of the Access Hubs.

The GP Access Hubs offer the following benefits:

  • The GP Access Hubs are designed to be an extension of GP services.
  • Patients will see a Greenwich GP who will have access to the patient's medical records to continue their care
  • Details of patient consultation will be available to the registered GP straight away
  • Waiting times will be kept to a minimum through the appointment system
  • GPs will be able to book advance appointments for their patients

All GP surgeries in Greenwich are connected to the same IT network, meaning your medical records can be accessed and updated, no matter which doctor you see. Your medical records will only be shared between your practice and the hub if you have not actively opted out of data sharing. If you are unsure, please speak to your registered GP.
